Directions to Wilmington Riverfront Parking

Same parking as 2006-2013 DDC 15K

From I-95, take exit 6 (4th St; M.L. King Jr Blvd; Maryland Ave). Follow signs to the Riverfront / Frawley Stadium, taking right on South Madison, left on Beech, right on Justison, bear right to Shipyard Dr. Moderate walk (due to construction) to registration and start/finish. There is no parking at DEEC itself.

Directions to Registration / Start

Walk from parking to Start includes detour around construction area. Follow green arrows in below image to Registration tables and porta-potty. Or follow red arrows for slightly longer route to DEEC where primary restrooms are located. Volunteers will guide you.

The Jack A. Markell (JAM) Trail opened in June, 2018. Except for the first 25 seconds, this video is a tour of most of the 15K course, for the return trip to the finish.

Course Map

The 2019 Delaware Distance Classic 15K & DEEC 10th Anniversary 5K Road Races will be out and back along the new Jack A. Markell Trail through the Russell Peterson Wildlife Refuge and bike paths towards New Castle.

Both 15K and 5K start on Delmarva Lane, run past DuPont Environmental Education Center and on to boardwalk over the marsh area. Then across bridge and on to pavement towards New Castle with long, straight stretches. 15K Course Details (pdf)
