Charity proceeds from the 2020 Delaware Distance Classic will again support local Delaware charities, along with Pike Creek Valley Running Club, a registered 501(3)c non-profit. This is our club’s only major fundraiser.
PCVRC is proud to have Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children as our primary charity partner.
In 2019, DDC participants helped our club donate over $1500 to Nemours. Thank you for your help!
A Premiere Destination for Pediatric Orthopedics
To support Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children with a donation means to support a recognized leader — nationally and internationally — in the field of pediatric orthopedic medical care, surgery and research.
Since 1940, we’ve changed the lives of children from around the world who have come to us with the most complex orthopedic conditions — and our legacy of excellence continues to this day. In fact, year after year, our pediatric orthopedic care, physicians and surgeons are ranked among the very best in the nation.
Families from all over the world turn to the Nemours Orthopedic Center for answers, treatments and hope. We offer children from near and far globally respected and referred expertise, care and surgery through our centers of excellence:

Pike Creek Valley Running Club
PCVRC (www.pcvrc.com)was founded in 1982 by runners who resided in the Pike Creek area of New Castle County, Delaware.
Our club is dedicated to promoting physical fitness through running. Although comprised primarily of Delaware runners from the Newark and Wilmington areas, we have members from other parts of Delaware and surrounding areas of Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
We welcome runners of all levels of ability from beginning joggers to the highly competitive road racer to marathoners. Walkers are also welcome. PCVRC currently has over 140 families and individual members. We are a social club and very supportive of all our member’s running goals. Most importantly, we have a great time running.
Your direct donation to PCVRC can be tax deductible, since we are a 501(3)c non-profit due to our affiliation with Road Runners Club of America (RRCA).
